cannot offset an alignment more than 3 m

The Alignemnt offset is not displaying as soon as i change the offset distance more than 3 m i.e the default offset distance

Hi,

Check your alignment for curves. When offsetting inside of a curve the curve length decreases. There is one point that curve length drops below 0. Actually a length less than 0 cannot exist. Similarly the offset alignment is not creating.

You better change the curve radius for higher length and do the offset.

Yes sir there are curves but the curves can’t change as the alignment has
been set
Any way around this ??

As Jeew-M has already stated there is an error in the alignment geometry which is preventing the offset being calculated. The only way to rectify this is to re-build using elements it can calculate.

The error could be due to a curve type being used or the resultant radius being too small, you will need to work out which curve is causing the issues.

My advice would be to first use the normal offset command, this will either create a broken polyline or state it cannot be offset. A broken (incomplete line) may  indicate the location of the issue.

In the latter offset a lesser distance to create a polyline then try offsetting again. If you still cannot offset, try removing some elements in the polyline one by one to see where the issue lies.

Once you locate the element causing the issue. Draw a curve on this note it's type and connectivity then delete it, try re-creating it using a different method.
