Hi @Hyphae_Design_Lab, I was wondering if you are following the steps detailed in the next link:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-civil-3d/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2017/...

Also:

what is the Civil 3D version you are using?

What is the error message displayed? (if there is one)

well that link was about:

To Import Storm and Sanitary Analysis Edits Into AutoCAD Civil 3D

and I am asking about how to load climate file into SSA

so your reply does not match the question at all

how do insert a climate file into SSA?

Greetings,

Thank you for your recent forum post.  My name is Sean and I am more than happy to help you with this issue. I see from the thread that other members of the community have been working with you on this issue regarding climate data files in Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis.

There are two issues preventing this process from functioning correctly. First you will need the Analysis time to correspond with the climate data; next you will need to format the climate file like the one I am sharing with you. You can find examples in the following directory.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\SSA 2016\Samples\Climatology\User Defined

I have subscribed to the thread though and will continue to monitor it should you need additional assistance. If you would like to communicate directly, you may do so at any time by sending me a private message in the forum.

Thanks, Here is my issue: this is all the help file says: External Climate File 􀂄 A user-prepared climate file where each line contains a recording station name, the year, month, day, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, and optionally, evaporation rate, and wind speed. If no data are available for any of these items on a given date, then an asterisk should be entered as its value. An example from a user-prepared climate file is shown below: Figure 10.3 Example user-prepared external climate file When a climate file has days with missing values, the software will use the value from the most recent previous day with a recorded value. For a user-prepared climate file, the data must be in the same units as the project being analyzed. For US units, temperature is in degrees F, evaporation is in inches/ day, and wind speed is in miles/hour. For SI metric units, temperature is in degrees C, evaporation is in mm/day, and wind speed is in km/hour. There is no instruction on how to prepare the TXT file input tab delimted? comma delimited? space delimited? ANSI? UTF-8? issues with the final line? The file that was sent was .dat but I am trying to use a .txt option does it need to be .dat? how to turn a .txt into a .dat?
