Can’t project multiple objects to multiple sections views

I have the newest vrsion of civil 3d.

No matter what object i tried to project to section views, it just doesn’t work.

i tried blocks, 3D Polylines, Feature lines ....nothing works.

the projection only works when i project to each section view individually.

Hello,

Perhaps you're using the old projection method and not this newer option for projecting objects to multiple section views ?  make sure you double check whether these objects you want to add are "crossing" or "projections".

I need to project the ROW to the section views. I have 2 3D polylines that crossing my sample lines. Inside the the projection window in the 3D poly lines there is a v on draw crossing and a style and a label to the lines.

Like i said this does work only when i do this individually to each section view alone.

i have no idea what i’m doing wrong.

Also i noticed something, I couldn’t put a v in draw projections. Although what i’m trying to project here is crossing because like i said before, the ROW lines are crossing my sample lines.

Ok if you want to add ROW symbols to your Section Views, I would recommend a different approach.  Please watch the short screen cast below showing the workflow I used leveraging simple ACAD blocks along with Alignments and Profiles for the existing fence lines and right of ways.  I had to create Profiles for each one that sampled existing ground surface, so that the EX Fence and ROW markers (that are based on the autocad blocks) are oriented to the ground surface profile in each section view.

I hope this helps.

first of all, thank you for replaying, the way you suggested works really fine.

but i'm trying to solve the problem with the regular way to prject objects. at some point i'm gonna need it to work.

the attach photo (crossing) shows that there is crossing between my ROW 3d polyline and the sample lines (red line).

i tried the object Elevation that i customized, also tried the surface elevation and yet again it doesn't work.

sorry, i said your way works for me. but as it turns out it didn't.

i did excatly what you did, assign the surface as a profile for the ROW Alignment but nothing was displayed.

see the attached photo.

I had a similar issue when trying to project 3D Polylines onto multiple Section Views. The solution was to simply convert them to Feature Lines and project those instead.

The aforementioned example to use Profile Grades also worked, but I recommend users add them ALL AT ONCE, as each time you do it, you start off fresh and it doesn't retain the data in the instance of, say for example you were to add 1 more Alignment Profile Grade to your Section View Group - it doesn't like that and thinks you're starting off from scratch.

Thanks @vaughan.giles7AGEV

this solution worked for me and it's exactly what I needed.

How can I mark your answer as the real solution of the issue?

Thank you for this post! Had the same issue. Converted 3d poly to features line, and only after this, I was able to do projection to multiple section views.
