Can not generate line or curve tables by window selection

I have been drafting for surveying and civil companies since 1998; I have always been able to select line or curve tags by windowing, now I cannot. In platting I must display curve or line tables on the sheet layout where the line or curve tags (numbers) are shown. I am including screenshots my curve number annotation style, I am assuming if there is anything wrong with it the same "fix" will work for my line tables. Thanks.

James,

Welcome to the Forums

I see you have you Tag Labels set up to display the Tag Mode display when you label the curve. To create the table associated with those tags you have the option of by selection or existing which will select all tags and place them in a table.

Conversely if you have the labels set to be normal labels like length/radius or bearing distance you can convert those by window selection to Tag labels and those captured by the window while be converted and added to the table.

My workflow has always been to do the latter and then go around the plat and select curves I want to be in a table based on space/aesthetics for the label. (i.e. I'm not going to have a Tag# for a 1000' line but would need one for a 2' line). The nice thing about done it this way is you control what the Curve or Line Tag# will be based on the selection order you make

I have actually found this easier to create all the tables to the side with reference to which sheet there on as tables must reside in Model Space with a viewport of the table on the sheet.

Not sure if that helps you short of that the Table is not created until you make the request to create it based on the tags in the drawing. If you have futher questions let us know.

Thanks for replying, my problem is I must  show the line and curve numbers used, per sheet. I used to be able to "window" the line or curve tags using my match lines as a guide, if I use the options in the dialog box, I get all the curve or line numbers which is NOT what I need. I did some reading on this and according to some other cad users, the inability to window select curve or line tags has been a problem for a while, That's news to me!

I have always windowed to select the tags I want in a table, this is the first time I ever encountered this stupidity.

I've not used this function before, but would be happy to mess around with a data set and see what I can come up with.  Do you have an old example you can share that shows what it is supposed to look like, and a sample data set  (as well as what version you are working in, it looks like 2020-2022) that I can do some testing with?
