Calculate volume

Hi,

Is it possible to calculate the area highlighted in the picture below, and only that?

The road cuts the existing ground so that its able to be built. A-B-C

The top connects to the existing ground at a varying slope along the whole length of the corridor. A-C

The cut volume correctly shows how it goes from A-B-C. However, since we're filling the ground back up again and adding a bit on top I would like to know how much that is without having to do it manually. Is there a way?

I know that I can use the top surface from the corridor, but then I will also get a volume where the asphalt is above the existing ground, which is not what I'm after.

Create a bottom ditch surface that only includes links, a-b & b-c, you could use exported dynamic corridor feature lines to do it. Then compare to what i assume is the ground surface.

In the volume dashboard you can calculate different boundaries

Hi guys! interesting conversation.

I would add the following.

I would modify the assembly and include a MarkPoint and a LinkToMarkedPoint subassembly to create the link A-C. Then I would use that link to create a surface. Finally, I would do a surface comparison between the top surface of the corridor and the surface that was created out of the link A-C.

A sectional volume computation should work as well. But the correct computation criteria should be created first. The criteria for this material should be something like:

  • Surface Link A-C - Below
  • Corridor Top Surface - Above

I hope this helps. Regards,
