Calculate Geological Layers Volumes

Hi,

I have few tin surfaces created that correspond to geological layers.

I`d like to ask you how do you calculate each layer volume.
glayers.png

Red line shows Datum surface.

Color ones show tin surfaces that represent each geological layer.

Volume W1

Calculate volume between S1 and S2

Volume W2

Calculate volume between S2 and S3

Volume W3

Calculate volume between S3 and S4

Volume W4

Calculate volume between S4 and Datum surface

The problem is that Datum surface ones can end in W3, ones in W2 or in W5. It depends how geological layers will be created and how deep datum surface will be.

Any ideas about this ?

Hi there, I think this is what you want. Right?

I uploaded the file so you can check how I did it. If you have any questions, post them. Regards!

Picture you added just shows materials, doesn`t show surfaces and conditions you assigned to each material.

Anyway I think this what you shows still doesn`t solve the problem when Datum layers ones ends in one layer and ones in another.

That's why I attached the file I used. Check it and see if that solves your problem. I created a Layout profile that goes up through all the layers. Furthermore, I created five surfaces separated by 2m depth and computed the materials for every condition. By entering the sample line group properties you'll be able to see the computation.

I forgot to say. I even used the same names and colors of the image you posted for every surface (s1/green, s2/brown...). They are visible in the image I posted. Furthermore, I used the same name for the computation (w1, w2...). And as you said, according to the layout profile I used, the datum positions at a different depth/layer along the alignment.
