Calculate distance between surfaces

I work as a Cad/BIM technician within the Geotechnical field. I have a ground-surface and a surface for the expected rock below. I would like to know the soil depth down to the rock-level by calculating/measuring the distance between the surfaces. Is this possible somehow?

You could create a spot elevation label that gives you the elevation of both surfaces. Use the Reference Text component for the 2nd surface.

I haven't done this. But... I think it would be possible to create a Label Style that would show the difference between two point using an Expression. Maybe something similar to this.

Create a volume surface, it will have "elevations" representing the difference between the 2 component surfaces at any point you choose. Just label spot elevations. If you need "comparative" labels (surface a elev -surface b elev = depth) use reference components to the other surfaces.

You may also find the MinimumDistanceBetweenSurfaces command useful. Also found in the Analyze tab (click the dropdown arrow) of the Modify Surface Ribbon tab.
