Is there a way to make a nice border in a non dragged state when you have reference text? Currently, it seems to create 3 borders.

@BushW has edited your subject line for clarity: label border

Hello @lambertb

Yes, you can make a border for a non dragged state label.

Step 1: In your label style go to=>LAYOUT =>Component name: Reference textt XXX=>  Border = > Visiiblity=>FALSE.

This will turn off the border for a reference text component

Step 2: Go to Component name: xxx, then go adjust the Border=> Gap.

Adjust border Gap as needed.

I Hope this helps.

I would like to make a single border around a label made of a couple components including reference text. As you can see in the picture, my label with multiple reference text doesn't work well but in a dragged state it looks good.

Undragged you will get a border for each text component in the label. If you combine them into one component you get one border. For the reference text, copy and paste the contents of the reference component to the main component. This works for some label types. Otherwise, drag the label a tiny bit and turn off the leader and you get the appearance and dynamic location, but not rotation, of the label.

One cannot make a single border around reference label components. Each component gets a border. The same holds true for background masking.
