@BushW,  This is URGENT

There is something wrong and I dont know why or what is causing it but I an running out of time to doing this.

sheet files Data short cut

Surfaces, alignments, profiles and drainage and I annotated in the sheet files. come back later and it all gone! all the object are in the file

WTH is this?

the screen cast shows an inconsistency in the data shortcut node and the data shortcut editor.

Hello @Joe-Bouza

Not sure why this is happening but, it looks like you have some broken data shortcut links. Did anything change with the source files pathing or naming?

Take a look at <<blog>> and AKN article "In Search of the Missing Link" - Repairing Civil 3D Data Shortcuts. to see this can help you with repairing the missing links.

Hello @Joe-Bouza

I was following up here, any progress on this issue? Did you get the opportunity to review AKN article and blog post to see that helped with your problem?

Thanks for the followup Wendal

Not quite the same thing. Nothing has been renamed. I'm very concerned with the inconsistency of the shortcut folder contents in the DS editor vs the DS node

Hi Joe-

Just curious if you get the same error in drawings that have some of these Project data shortcuts referenced in?  If so, do you see links show up via the Data Shortcut Manager interface under Manage Tab\Manage Data Shortcuts?

Hi Mike

Hard to say at this time. But I can say that the DS editor shows nothing and the DS node shows everything

I have no answer why this happened but, did you have ??? were the annotated labels were? Because if so, you can use the DATA Shortcut Manager to repair broken data shortcuts references to hopeful restore those broken data shortcuts. The command is MANAGEDATASHORTCUTS.

Hopefully, this will help solve the problem.

Hi Wendell @BushW

No. I wish I did then I could recover as you describe. So far I have used a belt ans suspender approach and associate the drawing with the current project and things have no gone wonky.

Did you and the team happen to explore the discrepancy in the content of data short cut node in the prospector  versus what gets listed in the data shortcut editor?

Joe, You list 2014 & 2015 in your signature. What release are you doing this project in? If it's happening in more than one project. You might want to do a repair or reinstall of that version.

sorry 2017

this is straight forward stuff: Sheet file with xref base and ds added and labeled then the labels disappear yet all the DS are present and unbroken
