broken alignment data references

I have multiple alignments with profiles in a data references. I recently went from Civil 3D 2020 to Civil 3D 2021 and the data references to alignments have been broken. Is there a way to reconnect them?

I have done the following to try and fix the problem:-

1. In the original data reference drawing I have 'associated project to multiple drawings'.

2. Removed the data reference and recreated the data shortcut.

3. Validate Data shortcuts

4. Refresh

5. Associate project to current drawing.

Nothing has worked and I do not want to set up all my alignments again.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to reconnect these data references.

Have you tried the Manage Data Shortcuts option on the Mange tab of the Ribbon?  Or the command is _AeccManageDataShortcuts if you don't use the ribbon. The left side is the alignments and all objects shortcut into the drawing and on the right is the Data Shortcut project. Make sure the correct project selected on the right. Then select the alignment on the left and select the same one on the right side and then hit the button in the middle to reconnect the link.
