Block previews missing in BLOCKS palette, sometimes in Insert > [Block]Insert menu

Summary:

I am experiencing extreme difficulty inserting blocks into drawings -- block previews are NOT displaying in the BLOCKS palette;  sometimes they display in the Insert > [Block tab] Insert menu from the ribbon, sometimes they do not.  It is extremely frustrating and I am losing time over it.

Civil3D 2021 / Windows 10 Pro (64bit)

Here is what I am seeing in the BLOCKS palette:

In this drawing, I do not see block previews either when (via the ribbon), I select [Insert Tab] > [Block panel] Insert, however, within the past day, there have been some drawings where the BLOCKS palette previews are non-existent, but the Insert > [Block]Insert pull down menu shows block previews.

Of note, when I open a new drawing (e.g. Qnew), the blocks are properly previewed in both the BLOCKS palette and the [Insert] > [Blocks]Insert drop down menu.

This is a recent C3D 2021 install from scratch on a computer with a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro.  The "problem" drawing may be an older .dwg file from an earlier install of C3D 2019 that has been SAVE AS'd multiple times.

I have audited the .dwg several times.  No effect.  I have saved all drawings, exited, restarted C3D and the problem remains.

What gives?  This is a real PITA.

Terry -- Thank you!

Initially running BLOCKICON did nothing.  But I noted that the BLOCKS palette was still open.  I closed the BLOCKS palette, ran audit again for sh*ts & giggles.  Then re-ran BLOCKICON, accepting the default (*).  Upon re-opening the BLOCKS palette (command:  blockspalette)... sure enough, all the block previews re-populated.  Yay!

BUT... the block previews in the Ribbon:  [Insert tab] > [Block tab] Insert drop down menu are still fubar'd?  (as in... NO previews there.)   Puzzling.

At least the BLOCKS palette seems to be back in business.

Anyone got a solution for the [Ribbon] Insert > [Block]
