Bing Maps not working

Is anybody experiencing any issues connecting Bing mapping. Its not coming up when I set the coordinate system and turn on background mapping. I recently installed Plex earth on a trail (which has since lapsed). Could this plug-in be affecting my standard Bing maps? Thanks in advance.

@michael.howardPRATB , the first thing I would check is that you're signed in with your Autodesk account since the geolocation map feature is only available with an active Autodesk account. If you hit F1 in Civil 3D to bring up the help menu, you should see your user name in the upper right corner or a prompt to sign in.

If you are signed in and it still isn't working, I would just try waiting a few hours and trying to launch the map again. It seems like the map function is periodically unavailable as they do updates.

Let me know if that helps.

Checked it and I'm logged in but the mapping is still not working. Also not working in 2020.

Do the coordinates of your drawing and objects in the drawing represent the area in your Settings?

@michael.howardPRATB , could you let me know which coordinate system you're working in? I could try it on my computer to see if I get similar results. I'm able to access the geolocation map with the coordinate systems that I typically work in.

I'm not familiar with Plex Earth, and I don't know how your template/profile is setup, but if you can still access the out-of-the-box Civil 3D Imperial template/profile, I would try to run the geolocation map through that and see if you get the same result. That might point us in the right direction as to what is causing the issue. I presume there is some .cuix file being loaded as a customization file for Plex Earth to run (like other 3rd party add-ons).

I'm working in ETRS89.GK24. Normally it works on the button every time but for some reason this week I'm only getting a blank screen with the BING logo at the bottom. Did a bit of testing with WGS 84, TM35, a blank template (in Metric) and still nothing. Its very odd.

You sent me down the right track on the coordinate system question. I assumed that the client was using a particular (i.e. normal!!) co-ordinate system but on assessing the xmls it appears to have been a completely different one that no ones used for 20 years! Anyway, you learn something new everyday! Thanks
