Bind/Insert vs WBLOCK

I have quickly searched online but am unable to find what the difference is between these two operations. It would certainly appear that Insert is the same/similar as WBLOCK, but I am not sure, especially as it concerns copying survey figures and cogo points from one file to another..

XREF Bind / Insert will take an xref and remove the association to an external file and place it directly in your drawing.

WBLOCK is a completely different thing, where you take content that is in your drawing that you select and write it to an external drawing file.

wblock is for writing out selected entities to a new file. Bind/Insert is for bringing external content into a drawing via XREF. In that regard they are not the same at all. Could you clarify your question?

WBLOCK is also very useful in writing out a "problematic" file to a new clean one

Guess I didn't clarify my question enough.. If your purpose is to copy linework from one drawing into another one, what process is best, bind/insert or WBLOCK and insert that block into another drawing? I come originally from Microstation background and there is one process to copy in linework from one drawing to another, not sure why AutoCAD has so many different ways of doing this.. There is also CNTRL-C, and paste to original coordinates..
