Best country kits?

Hi,

I don't have the interest to check through all existing countrykits but I was wondering, if people would be willing to share their knowledge of which country kits contain really versatile and universal content. Eg. UKIE and ANZ seem to be really good. Are there perhaps some more country kits, that have _functionality_ (I'm not looking for content but actual tools)?

Thanks in advance!

The DACH kit has a good tool for adding hatch patterns between two polylines - like the ESCARPMENT tool but with more functionality.

F,

Yes, the ANZ kits have excellent content. Also review the Swiss CK from 2020 as this particular version had an English version.

Hope this helps

I asked for country kit info and got smacked with a piece of knowledge I feel I should have been familiar with ages ago. "ESCARPMENT" is something I've never heard of before! Thank you for this as well, @neilyj666! What a way to start the week 😃

@Buzz0m Yes that one is a little known tool - I think it is a  hangover from AutoCad Architecture - but it is useful for a quick sketch etc

Neil,

Wow! that's a new one on me, too. I wonder how many more legacy AEC commands remain in C3D?

Cheers

It's quite a nice command as no need to bother with gradings/corridors for a quick representation of a slope. As mentioned earlier in the thread there is a much better version in the DACH Kit which hopefully will make it into the main product in the future.

just to be clear: is DACH basically the german speaking area? I can't seem to find a specific DACH kit, but all the countries are separated? Perhaps they have almost identical content?

I believe so - Germany, Austria and Switzerland. I had it installed in C3D 2020 but haven't installed it since as I lost the instructions for translating the commands

Ok so I looked into the german country kit and found the road markings tool! It seems decent and worth mentioning. Here is a short gif of it. All the markings can be updated if the design changes (but it seems that they have to be manually updated one by one). They (blocks with attributes) contain all the necessary info as property sets for quantity calculation etc.

@neilyj666I'm still searching for the tool you mentioned. Do you have any more clues on how to find it?

hey @KieronC, thanks for the tip ! I'm working through the german speaking kits. By chance I happen to speak decent german so if the swiss kit is equally good in the 2022 version do you think it is good enough if I check that one out or were there some specific things in the 2020 version, which you were thinking of when you recommended that one?

That line marking tool looks great - surely something that could be leveraged for the UKIE kit?

None of the commands on that ribbon look familiar so maybe the slope marking tool has been discontinued- I've tagged @Alfred.NESWADBA who may be able to advise on this
