automatic linework points colour problem

Hello guys,

I have a problem with automatic linework points colour. I created Desc. Key Set with all different layers (and colours) for different codes. However, when I import the points and process the linework, the points that are not part of any linework (or survey figure) show proper colour and are on proper particular layer but the ones that were used to create linework have all the same colour as per the point group setting, however they are on proper particular layers as per the desc. key set. it seems like the colour is for some reason overriden by the point group setting. Any ideas what might be the issue and how to fix it ? Thanks.

Edit the point group properties, go to the Overrides tab and turn off any overrides.

Hey Tim,

All the overrides are off, otherwise it would override the appearance of all the points, not just the ones that create linework I assume. but thanks anyway.

Are some points COGO points and others Survey points?

When checking overrides, did you check all point groups and check the point group display hierarchy? Maybe some points are referenced by multiple groups.

I would assume that the points that are doing your linework don't have a description key associated with it but rather a figure style which should be getting processed and placed on the layer withing the figure prefix database. If that is the case then that is happening is just as expected. Those points without a key should be going to the default layer shown in the create points setting. All points that have a key associated with them would go the the layer and point style associated with that description key.
