Audit - Viewports - Publish - Scale Bars

Occasionally I am seeing issues where I audit in a viewport that the other viewports in the drawing seem to zoom off into some unknown coordinates so it looks blank. They were in a locked viewport.  The only way I could fix it was to zoom extents and then re-pick the correct scale.  I have also seen issues with the scale bars, they seem to grow and shrink on their own.  The actual viewport has been untouched yet the scale bar will re-size, my guess also from the audit...? And finally I have recently done a publish to a printer a drawing with over 20 viewports each one with scale bars and several of the prints had a scale bar that was huge or extremely tiny.  I am not sure what is going on with these 4 functions. I am on the latest service pack 2 of civil 3d 2015.  Has anyone else encountered issues like these?

The PUBLISH command is one of the very few functions within ACad that uses multiple processors.  There have been issues reported by others which appear to have been caused by the processing of one part of a drawing not getting completed in time, before the rest of the layout gets done and is sent off to the print driver.

In your case, with 20 viewports to process I am wondering if some of them are not getting processed fast enough, and the print job is going ahead while they're only partially done.  What happens if you PRINT the drawing instead of using PUBLISH?

By just manually printing each viewport, it works just fine. I do seem to get the scale bars fluctuating in size, so I have burst them, which are no longer dynamic. Just a few odd things happening in this release. Thanks for your input

If the bar scales change in size I might look into this being a scaling issue. Is the Layout scale what you are plotting in (1:1)? Is the bar scale created to work in PS or MS? If this is done though a viewport do the vp scale and standard scale match?

The scale bar is in the paper space, the viewport is locked, it comes in at the right scale, but sometimes the scale bar will resize...it is weird and not predictable. Yes it is set to plot 1:1, I can actually measure the scale bar and see that it has been resized, yet the print will be to the proper scale, just not the display of the scale bar. I am using the scale bar from the layout tools tab of civil 3d 2015.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I had the same thing happen in 2015 and currently in 2016. The only way I have been able to get around it is by going to the model tab before running the audit command.

I have not been able to find a solution to this, Autodesk needs to send a update to the software to fix it along with the pipe networks in 2016 of Civil 3D

Did you have Arrow 21 attached to your views?  Every time someone runs an audit half of the viewports would reset to 0,0 if that built-in auto rotating arrow was attached.   I had to remove it from 100's of layouts.

If you are using dynamic scale bars and or north arrows from the layout tab of the ribbon and civil3d Plan Production (in particular but has effect ordinary plans) I highly recommend you get rid of them. I don't have a white paper or letter from the deskers but I've seen this happen and it is definitely the scale bars/ North arrows.

Yes that is a good catch, I hope Autodesk is following this so they can fix the problem some day

Has this been fixed at all? I am in C3D 20202 and my scale bars in paper space change size with the publish command but if I plot my sheets individually it works fine?
