hallo all

I have some question about attaching RCP point cloud document into civil 3D, I have had point cloud document from Trimble business centre in LAS file format, Then I converted it into RCP format by using AutoCad ReCap 2016, but When I attach it into civil 3d it does not have own coordinate system in recap it had correct coordinates

and you have to drop  it any place where you want, it doesnot have its own sea level and so on. I do not want to attach file by this way, I need to drop automatically correct projection and coordinate system, how can I do this.

ok second question

as known if you attach  RCP/RCS file format point cloud in civil 3d you can use surface filtres, which filtre vegetations, buildings and so on from the surface but when I use this option there are problems with ground surface

see it on screenshots bellow

you see there this is not correct filtre my ground surface is not real surface but, when I donot use filtre I get right surface

see it bellow

Lets recap, so how can I do that attach  RCP file format point cloud in correct coordinate system with correct sea level and why filtre does not work correctly in my case.

I have deleted vegetations and buildings from this document in ReCap it's very convenient but I had a hard time when I attached it into civil 3d  because it doesnot have correct coordinate system. how can I solve my problem

thank you in advance

Make sure the coordinate system is setup in the ReCap project and the instrument settings are set to the correct coordinate system before indexing the las files.  Additionally, I share you're problems with the way C3D handles ground filtering.

This thread may help you find a few other options.

you can see on first screenshot that right bellow side there is a command "use  geographic location " it does not allow me to use this command can you say why is this so?? and if you can explane to me how to set coordinate in recap it allows me just point at X, Y, Z directions I cannot point at any of them manually

The reason it does not allow you to use geo location is because there isn't one set in the rcp file. When you create a new project and add the files you want to index, you can select the instrument setting at the top of the screen. This icon looks like a laser scanner on a tripod with a gear on it. Go to advanced and set up the coordinate system for the data, and a target coordinate system if you intend to translate it. Index the scans and you should be set.
