Attach Georeferenced Image

Anybody has a faster way of attaching georeferenced images using C3D 2024?

I used "XREF," "attach image" before but this is not working anymore.  Now I change workspace to Planning and Analysis and then insert image.

If I use XREF now, the georeference metadata of the image is not used.

Anybody with a similar problem?

Thank you in advance!

Provided your coordinate system has already been set for your zone you should be able to use MAPIINSERT to bring in the image.

Hi David,
If your image's coordinate system doesn't match your drawing's coordinate system, then use Raster Tools IINSERT.

hello here, I have a similar issue

both my image and drawing are in the correct coordinate system, but when i try to attach my image it does not appear at the right place, instead it asks me for the specific coordinates where to place my image ( but i can't know that). since they are both correctly georeferenced, the image should appear at the right place ,isn't it?

You're using IINSERT, not XREF right? Does your image have a world file associated with it?

Hello

I usually  just click on this. And yes it has a world file (JGW) associated with it.

Hi Antonia,
"my image it does not appear at the right place"
Let's see what you've got. Please post your drawing and the image.

Try using "NO" coordinate system on your drawing. Remove the image. Audit - Purge - Save. Then use MAPIINSERT and see what happens.

Rename the image file and world file. It might not like the period in the file name.

Maybe I'm wrong but can you can check your "Units?"

From your screenshot I can see that it's in "inches."

I believe France uses meters.

It's not the units - the x,y,z wouldn't be 0 if it was. Did you remove the period in the filenames?

Hi @Antonia_NgampoZVBAW

Decheterie, correct?

102.PNG

Your workflow to insert your image needs to be examined. The jpw (image world file) is not recognized when using MAPIINSRT command.

Your JPW (world file) indicates WHERE your image should be inserted (refer to image on right). Your MAPIINSERT command indicates to insert the image at 0,0 (refer to image on left).

The .jpg and the .jpw must have the exact same name, only the extensions are different.

Both the .jpg and the .jpw must be in the same folder.

How long is your file path and file name?

The MAPIINSERT command is not able to handle files when the file path is longer than 128 characters.

You need to keep the file path including the file name to 128 characters or less long for the MAPIINSERT command to see the World File (where it gets the coordinates from).
