Assembly Parameter Reference

Hi All

I have recently discovered parameter references for use in Assemblies and find them very useful. I use them mainly to ensure that my curb & gutter flows at the same slope as the adjacent lane.  However, I am unable to set a parameter when I am using my curb return assembly.  I have a simple assembly with a curb&gutter on the left and a lane on the right.  When used in the corridor, the lane is set to target the centreline of each road (both horizontal and elevation target) to build the corner. I have instances where I have a junction at a superelevation section so ideally that curb needs to flow towards the lane for a portion of the corner (i.e. spill) and then flow away from the lane for the remainder of the corner (i.e. catch).  It appears that there is no way for me to add the slope of the lane as a pameter for the gutter as they are not in the same group/side of the assembly.  Can anyone provide advice on how I could achieve this?

Thanks

I think it is because the curb sub has to be on the same side of the assembly node

The lane and curb need to be on the same side of the assembly baseline.  There is a workaround to get them on the same side that I use on all intersections.

Continue to use the curb return alignment and profile as the baseline.

For the assembly:

-Link Offset and Elevation to Left Side (Change Omit Link to Yes) - Target the sideroad centerline/centerline profile and the mainline edge of pavement/profile

-Lane subassembly to Right Side - Target Curb Return alignment/profile

-Curb subassembly to Right side - Use Parameter Reference that uses lane slope as the gutter slope so that they remain the same slope

Thanks for your replies, this work around sounds like what I need.  JBlackwood can you send an image of your assembly - I'm not quite understanding the construction that you have used.  Thanks

Here is a screen shot of the attachment and of the construction of the assembly.  Hope this helps!

Hi. Hope you are good. I happened to come across a solution you provided. I am trying to apply it to my case but it's not working. My case is that instead of a curb and gutter, on one side (RHS) of the assembly, I have a shoulder. And on the other side a lane. The lane has a vertical target. What I need is for the shoulder slope to match that of the lane.

Would you pls direct me on how to do this. I have been at it for days!!

Regards

Richard.
