ANZ Country Kit 2024 causes fatal errors

Hi all,

I was excited about upgrading to 2024 and installing the ANZ Country Kit after having training on it. Unfortunately, it produces repeatable fatal errors in certain, and a few uncertain, situations.

After upgrading (clean install) my pc to C3D 2024 with the ANZ Country Kit, it would produce a fatal error when opening the acad.dwt template that was installed with it. Troubleshooting found that it would open with AutoCad fine.

Using the Sheet Set Manager, creating a new sheet set then trying to open that layout, also produced a fatal error.

A few dwg files from outside the company would also produce this error.

Upgraded a 2nd pc (clean install) the same 2024 build and ANZ Country Kit, same repeatable result with the errors.

A 2nd clean install without the Country Kit did not have these errors.

Checked another pc that was upgraded earlier, same result.

This is more of a Public Service Announcement than anything in case someone searches for the same thing I did, but has anyone else in Aus/NZ experienced the same thing?

TIA

Hi Michael,

Thank you for reporting and sharing your feedback on the Civil 3D forum. I attempted to replicate the issue as you described, but I wasn't able to reproduce the crash you mentioned. Could you please review this video and let me know if I missed anything? Also, could you share with me, via private message, the email address you entered when sending the crash report?

I also tried loading a new sheet set, but I'm not experiencing the crash.

Update:

Installed the latest C3D 2024.2 update (just now), reinstalled the ANZ Country Kit and retested the pathways where I had the errors and they do not reproduce.

That's great and frustrating at the same time. I know errors are hard to troubleshoot at the best of times.

Attached are some screenshots of the errors a colleague got when trying to open some files. I can open these with no problems now.

If anyone has insight on how to troubleshoot these errors it would be helpful to know.

Thanks for your time. @lim.wendy

Hi Michael,

Thank you for reporting this issue, and for informing us that update 2024.2 appears to have resolved the problem. I have shared your feedback, including the crash reports, with the development team. I will keep this thread updated with any significant developments.
