Alignment/profile intersection join - PLEASE HELP

Hi,

I am totally new to civils 3D and trying to learn it by watching online training videos. However i cannot find anything on how to connect a road profile to another road profile intersection. As shown in the image attached, i have 2 roads, I have created 2 alignments for the centreline of each road. I then have created a profile view for each of these alignments. On the road 1 profile view i have created a proposed road profile. Now i want to create the proposed road profile for road 2, but i dont know how to draw my profile to match the intersection point level of road 1, if this makes sense?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

When modelling your vertical profile for road 2, you need to determine what the vertical profile level is for road 1, you can do this either;

  1. create a surface from the corridor and add a level label to it, or
  2. Measure how far along the alignment the intersection takes place with road 2 and plot this on the vertical profile for road 1, adding a PVI at this point. If you then go into the profile grid view, this will tell you the level

I prefer to use option 1

Thanks for this, so basically you have to do it manually, there is no option to show road 1 profile on the road 2 profile so i can snap to it?

Yes I'm afraid you need to do it manually...the vertical profile is only associated to the individual alignment.
