Alignment Layout Tools

Good morning everyone, I have a general question in regards to Alignment Layout Tools, I currently have an existing Corridor that is built off an existing Alignment. There are a few parts of the existing Alignment that I would like to revise (i.e. changing a two point tangent segment to a segment with a spiral), I would like to know if there is a way to change the Alignment individual segments from one type to another?

Thank you!

Hi @rstewartKFJTR, Turn off your corridor. Then you can place some PIs close to the location you want to edit. Then use the "erase sub-entity" tool to erase the alignment segments you don't need between those PIs. Once you do this, modify the geometry as desired, add the new segments, and then rebuild and turn on the corridor.

I hope this helps. Best regards!

Hi,

You can do it. But it will change the length of the alignment. It causes changes in profiles. Also it will affect superelevation as well. After modifications you may need to revisit them.
