Alignment change, what to expect?

I've learned that the alignment for an asphalt path will be tweeked some, add 20 or so feet in the middle of the alignment distance.  How does Civil 3d handle the proposed profile, sample lines, cross sections, cross section sheets, plan and profile sheets, corridors, corridor surfaces, cut/fill reports or anything else that has already been created based off the current alignment stationing.  What can I expect to have to redo or any advice?  This is my first actual corridor project, so still getting my feet wet.

Obviously you have changes the total length.  The stationing from the edit point up-station will be different.

1. the layout profile will need to be examined and tweaked. 

2. sample line at interval will remain but their physical location will have moved. user specific stations may now be at a different point 

3. cross section should adjust 

4. total length of any corridor wul have to be checked and adjusted

mostly things will take care of themselves but you will want to audit the design

Equations can be used if it is shorter or longer.

I do not know how a station equation would effect things. We do not use them in out line of work.

I may have answered nebulously because the reality is if the design changes regardless of the power of civil3d the onus is on us to verify.

Before editing your horizontal alignment, make sure that "Profile Locking" in "Profile Properties" of design profile is set to "Anchor profile geometry points to alignment geometry points" (image attached).

This means that your profile geometry is anchored to your horizontal geometry and will stay the same outside of the edited area. You just need to check/fix the profile between the edited point and the next unedited geometry point.

Made the mistake of not checking this once, it was a long day...…….
