AEC rail elevation

Hello to all the experts.
Today I used for the first time the 'RAIL' command to place a railing on a retaining wall.
The railing enters the drawing at elevation 0.
Is it possible and how to set the rail elevation from a profile or surface?
Thanks.

RAIL is a command from AutoCAD Architecture. But it is also available in Civil 3D because of the common AEC libraries.

You can anchor the rail to AutoCAD and AutoCAD Architecture objects, but not directly to Civil 3D objects (surfaces, corridors...) If you convert the Civil surface to a SOLID > MASSELEMENT, you should be able to anchor the rail to the resulting Masselement.
