Adding custom label style to tool palette?

Is there a way to add custom C3D label style to a custom tool palette?

I have created a pipe label style and a structure label style, which I would like to keep for future use if need be.

I'm trying to drag both label style from Settings tab in the Prospector and drop to a custom tool palette, but my mouse shows the symbol (circle with line in it) that it ain't possible.

If not possible, is there a quick and easy alternative?

Thank you!

Add custom styles to a template file & load that template if/when desired. If, at some future time, you only want to access those styles & not the whole template for some reason, use IMPORTSTYLESANDSETTINGS to just grab what you want from the template file.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

One option: If you set the Settings tab of Toolspace to Master View (pulldown menu just above drawing name), then you can drag those styles from drawing to drawing.

Another option: Drag-n-drop those styles into your drawing template file (*.dwt), then use ATTACHREFERENCETEMPLATE command to attach the template to an open drawing. This will enable those label styles in your drawing, without recreating them.

As you have found, dragging Label Styles to Tool Palettes doesn't work.

I suppose that depends on what you want the tool on the tool palette to do. Do you want the tool to add the style to the drawing or do you want the tool to run the command to label the pipe using that style?

First option: Create a drawing that contains only that style in it and then use the tool palette to insert that drawing as an exploded block.

Second option: Create some code that will label the pipe with the style you want (I'm not sure how to do this but I'm fairly confident it can be done) and then add that code to the tool palette.
