Adding a structure to a existing part list

Hello,

I have search the web on trying to figure out on how to get this to work and after trying I thought I ask here for some help.

Attached is a sketch of a structural headwall that I would like to add to my parts list. I know there are many other stuff that

needs to be added like labels, rules etc. but for now just getting the drawing in is good enough.

A screen cast would be really helpful.

Thanks

Do you have a parametric part already built for this structure in partbuilder?

Civil 3D has a concrete rectangular headwall that you could use if the available parameters fit your needs.   If not, you could simulate its display with a structure style that uses a block for display purposes.

Another option would be to open the current concrete rectangular headwall with partbuilder and save it a new custom structure and then edit the values to fit your needs.

Hello,

Unfortunately I don't have any concrete rectangular headwall in my civil 3d all I have is drainage inlets and pipes based on our standards.

I was wondering if this would work. If you have a concrete rectangular headwall in your civil 3d can you attach it to a post and then maybe I can modify it and use it in my partbuilders list.

Thanks

The concrete rectangular head, and others, come with the software right out of the box.

Open your current parts list for editing. Right click on the parts list name and choose 'Add part family'.  Your should then see the available structures shown in the attached image.  The concrete rect. headwall should be there.   If its not there, contact you CAD admin and ask if they can add it to the custom company standard parts catalog that your system is apparently set to use.

Hello,

I am currently using civil 3d 2016 and would like if you can provide me the zip file of all the parts list that comes with your software.

I would like to use this too create my own part list and use it in my design. Don't know if this will work but I will give it a try.

Thanks
