Add size to pressure pipe catalog and existing part list

Using Civil 3d 2017, latest patches...

Goal:   add 3" DIP to an existing parts list in my dwg (why in the world it's not there to begin with is perplexing, especially since there are 4x3 and 6x3 reducers..)

Thus far, 

1.) I modified the file: Imperial_AWWA_PushOn.sqlite  using the content catalog editor to add 3 inch pipe.

2.) If I create a new pressure pipe parts list I can add the 3" pipe.

Problem:  I have my whole network drawn and using an existing parts list based on the same catalog, but I am not able to add the 3 inch pipe to this parts list...it simply doesn't show.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

nevermind... was confusing the push-on and mechanical catalogs... once I added it to the mechanical catalog I was able to add the size to my Parts List in my dwg.     So I think I've confirmed that you can't mix pressure pipes from different catalogs in one parts list... please advise if otherwise.
