Add new ellipsoiddefinition?

Does anybody know how to add a new ellipsoid definition to Civil 3D?

I tried using ADEDEFCRDSYS, but when I key in the new values and hit OK, it simply says "Cannot add ellipsoid to dictionary." I have not been able to find any useful information in the Help.

Have you looked at the "Define Global Coordinate System" dialogues under the
Setup menu in Tool Based Geospatial Toolspace (you'll have to turn on the
Menu bar to see the Setup menu)?

Yes. It says "Cannot add ellipsoid to dictionary."

It works for me. Could it be user premissions? Try logging into Map
Administrator as SUPERUSER and see if it helps.

It says SUPERUSER login successful, but I still get "Could not add ellipsoid to dictionary."

In fact, I seem to get it for EVERYTHING. If I try to add a new category, I get "Could not add category to dictionary."

I am logged into Windows as an Administrator, too, so I should have complete access to my entire machine. Although I am running on Windows 7...

I hope you have dual boot or another machine. You might have found a bug.

I have had Map act stubborn with it's coordinate system file though. Once it
was when I had it installed on a seperate drive from my OS. That's not
saying that is a known issue as I haven't investigated it.

I just went in to a co-worker's computer (running on good old XP-32), and I had no problems.

I tried contacting Autodesk Support. Hopefully they can come up with something.

SUCCESS!! (sort of...)

If I kill Civil 3D, and restart it by right-clicking and "Run as administrator", I can create new ellipsoids and coordinate systems. I'll let Adesk support know I found a workaround.

It was acting suspiciously like a permission problem. Let us know when you get it figured out.
