Add additonal profile after-the-fact, not syncing to alignment data reference?

I created an alignment and a profile in Drawing #1.  I then data reference that alignment and profile in Drawing #2.  I then added another profile to the same alignment in the source drawing.  How do I get that new profile to show up as a data reference in Drawing #2?  I doesn't show up after saving/syncing.

If you want to keep things clean when you data ref in an alignment and profile, go straight to the profile. It will take the alignment with it. Otherwise if you data ref the alignment (ALG) first, then do the profile it will duplicate the alignment and call it ALG (1). If you did it again with the second profile you probably have ALG (2). It is the same alignment. It gets messy fast.

That’s what was happening previously on other profiles/alignments, but then I tried to DR this new profile and it put it under the already created alignment like I wanted. Honestly, I’m not sure why it worked this time….
