2D Polyline/ 3D polyline

Anonymous
Not applicable

I got this file with 2D polylines as contores.

I want to use it in drawings so I tried to put the elevation to "0".

On the screen it looks like if all segments are at same elevation.

But in properties they have different elevation!

When I change the elvation to "0" in properties the polyline breaks up and jumps in diffrent direction!

In file I am attaching here there is just one polyline but in Working file there are hundreds of polylines behaving this way!

How do I solve this?

Hi @Anonymous

Try using the flatten command to create a 2d polyline at elevation 0 automatically.

also, if they you’re working with 3d polyline, you may want to convert to 2d polylines first by going to the modify tab/expand modify panel/ choose covert 3d to 2d polyline

hope this helps,

Thanks!

OK, I run:

FLATTEN

CHANGE

And even changing elevation in PROPERTIES...

There are 12000 polylines and it should work...

The issue is how it looks on the screen as I shown in attached file!

Hi,

I ran the Flatten Command and it worked for me!

  • I selected the three segments in your drawing,
  • typed Flatten,
  • selected <No> for remove hidden lines!
  • it looks like all three segments are now on Elev. 0!

if you'd like to post your project drawing, I can flatten the contours for you, not sure why it's not working on your end
