Label with Oval Border and Background Mask

Civil 3D 2010

I might be missing this but I would like an oval around my curve label.  I can use a block, but I would also like to have the background mask on as well.

See attachment: I turned on the rounded rectangular with the background mask on, but I would like my oval to do that instead.

I would think you need to use a block since the oval isn't a native option. Since you want a mask, you could use a solid hatch with 255,255,255 as the color, then have them organized (draworder) in the style to move the text to the front.

Just a non-coded approach...

That's a good idea.  But when I do that I can't see what the text says on screen.  See attached.

Add a new text element after you add the ellipse block. You might also try a wipeout inside of the block, but make it smaller than the ellipse (or just show the wipeout frame for the graphics
