Extract material sub criteria by section

Hi All,

I have been tasked with calculating the volumes in a cut with 5 different geological strata in it. The material will be removed in 2 meter benches.  I have setup the following material table to extract volumes by material type:

The geology shown in the expanded material is repeated in each layer. To be able to calculate productivities I am reporting the materials by 5m chainages (stations). I naively thought that by separating the materials in this manner I would easily be able to extract them. Apparently not the case. I have looked through the UI and the only method I can find to create a single material table for each sub item in the table above then push it out to Excel 25 times for each time design is updated or benching changes.

I would like to automate this process as similar work is likely in the future. I have looked at the .NET API reference and I can't seem to see anything obvious that gives me the volume for the sub criteria at a given section. SectionViewQuantityTakeOffTableProperties or Methods?

Any pointers/suggestions/solutions appreciated.

Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

I have been trying to do something similar but using payitem, where you can link to points and links of a sub assembly, the points give a length and links give a surface area, trouble is that there is no option for volume, I have been scrolling through the forums and most people say that it is a simple surface area multiplied by height, which is true when it’s a regular shape, but life isn’t regular, so I would like to add to your query, is there a way to use the x and z coordinates of a point in the sting to calculate the volume, this can then referenced by chainage as well

the volume exist in Volume Surface not in the material.
