Transferring a custom Workspace from one computer to another

So we just upgraded to Civil 3D 2017.  I created a new Workspace by copying the Civil 3D workspace , and then added several custom commands into the Profile & Section View ribbon, and the Modify Ribbon, along with a couple of toolbars on the right side.  I saved the new Workspace out of the CUI and uploaded it to the next computer (I have seven computers to do).  The toolbars came in, but the Ribbons did not update.  Any thoughts on why they didn't?

Use the export profile in the options to get it the same on the other computer.

So that allows me to transfer the settings in the Options window, which is great, but it doesn't affect what's on the ribbons.  So I'm still looking for an answer.

It's tough to tell you where you might have gone wrong without a specific description. I assume you are using the transfer tab in the CUI dialog?

Within the CUI of the original computer:

- Click on the Transfer tab

- Click and drag my custom workspace from the left panel to the right panel, dropping it in the Workspaces tab

- Highlight the custom workspace in the right panel

- Click the save button in the right panel and place the CUI file in a network location that I can reach from the other computers

Within the CUI of the new computer:

- Click the Transfer tab

- Click Open in the right panel

- Surf to the new CUI file and click open

- Click and drag the new CUI file from beneath the Workspaces tab in the right panel, dropping it in the Workspaces tab in the left panel

- Right click the new CUI file in the left panel, setting it default and current

- Click apply at the bottom and close the CUI

With that, everything I did except for the modified tabs show up.  Since my one new tab shows up, I guess I could create two new tabs for the custom buttons, rather than editing two existing ones.  But the work is already done, so if I can find an easy fix for this it will save time.

I believe the problem is that since you modified the existing tabs/panels, the existing ones will not be overwritten with the new version. Your CUI likely now has two ribbon tabs with the same name. Since they have the same name I'm guessing your custom workspace pulls in the first one in the list of ribbon tabs.

I think you have a few options to fix this.

1. Change the names of the ribbon tab (and possibly panels) that you modified. These will now be referenced properly after being copied over. 
2. Migrate your changes from the new ribbon tab back to the original ribbon tab. This will have to be done on each machine.
3. Substitute the old ribbon tab with the new one in the workspace. This will have to be done on each machine.
4. Replace the main CUI file on each machine with the "master" you created. This will unfortunately overwrite any changes that were made to the other CUI files.
