Finding the extents of label components

I am having some difficulty figuring out how to get the extents to a civil 3d label object. I want to be able to select a label, and draw a custom polyline around it (in dragged state) and draw a leader or multiple leaders from that new polyline. I just can't seem to figure out how to get at the label data itself. Does anyone have any ideas/info? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Adam

I was thinking the geometric constraints would work, but that would only work if the label was horizontal or vertical, but that won't work when it's in a dragged state. You could copy and then explode the label twice and then use the geometric extents of the resulting objects. I suspect there might be a better way though.

Actually I remeber having this code sample, which might point you in the correct direction to get the components:
