Is there a way to change the default units when doing a  "Import Survey Data"? That step to click "Edit Survey Database Settings" to change the units from International Foot to Survey Foot is often forgotten, or the Cancel button is hit by mistake, and our points come in off. It's especially troubling when there are several field book files for an area, and we don't catch one. It's not enough to change the drawing template units or even "Edit Drawing Settings" before importing, because it appears the default survey database settings are separate from the drawing settings.

Set up a survey database once with the required settings then export it (I believe this will be exported to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D <year>\enu\Survey by default).

Next, edit Survey User Settings (it's the top left icon on the Toolspace > Survey tab) and set the Survey Database Path to the location you exported the file, and pick the settings you exported from the list.

Every survey database you create will start with those settings.
