Whenever I export, there is no armature

I have tried exporting using various settings... and everything is messed up.  I have no armature, instead, about 50 Empty "Transform" objects.  I'm trying to export as a Unity FBX, the other options do the same thing.  This used to work well, but now it doesn't at all.  Is there anything I need to know, or am doing wrong?

It sounds like you're encountering issues with exporting your 3D model with an armature to Unity as an FBX file. Here are some steps and considerations that might help resolve the problem:

Check Armature Visibility:

  • Before exporting, ensure that the armature is visible and active in your 3D modeling software. Sometimes, the armature may be hidden or disabled, causing it not to export.

Export Settings:

  • When exporting to FBX, check the export settings to ensure that the armature is included in the export. Look for options related to exporting armatures, bones, or skeletal data, depending on the software you're using.

Apply Scale and Rotation:

  • Make sure that the scale and rotation of your model and armature are applied correctly. In some cases, unapplied transformations can cause issues during export.

Check Parent-Child Relationships:

  • Verify that the armature is properly parented to the mesh objects it deforms. Each bone in the armature should be connected to the corresponding parts of the mesh.

Clean Up Unused Objects:

  • Before exporting, clean up any unused or duplicate objects in your scene. Sometimes, having unnecessary objects can cause issues during export.

Update Software Versions:

  • Ensure that you are using the latest versions of both your 3D modeling software and Unity. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements related to FBX exports and compatibility.

Export and Import Settings in Unity:

  • When importing the FBX file into Unity, check the import settings. Make sure that animations and bones are imported correctly, and that the "Rig" is set to "Humanoid" or "Generic" depending on your requirements.

Test with Simple Model:

  • Try exporting a simple test model with an armature to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is specific to your current model or a general export issue.

If you've tried these steps and still encounter problems, you may need to provide more specific details about your workflow, software versions, and any error messages you receive during export. This information can help diagnose the issue more accurately and provide targeted solutions. GM Socrates Ipay Login
