I generated several characters FBXs on Friday 12/1. When I generated FBXs with the same settings on Monday 12/4, I noticed that the generated characters no longer have joints. What happened?
Here's an example of a character I generated on 12/4. Notice the hierarchy of joints listed in the Outliner:
Here's the same character generated on 12/1. Notice there are no joints, only transforms:
Please advise!

I was about to post something myself but I see you beat me to it. The issue started somewhere between the 2nd and the 4th of December, based on my character generations. Hopefully someone from Autodesk reads this soon and can address it.
Maddening
Any fix for this? I have noticed the same thing. The generated characters essentially have nothing to rig. I've even tried regenerating old characters, created over the years, character that worked fine, and get fbx files with no skeleton to rig. I am exporting as 3DS Max FBX with the attached settings. It appears as though something broke in the character generating process.
This is happening with all the various options for generated characters. This is not an issue with Maya as MotionBuilder does the same, and from another thread, Unity also.
Is there an ETA for a fix as I get my students to use Character Generator to create rigs when first learning how to retarget mocap in MotionBuilder so need to know urgently!
I'm in the same boat. My students need it to create their scenes. Luckily I had quite a few characters created before the problems began so I made a library of preapproved characters. Let me know if you would like access to these characters.
Hi,
That would be great, thanks! I do have a few myself so can reciprocate.
Many thanks,
Tim
