Hello,
I'm using Autodesk Characters in Unity for a research project on how facial expressions are perceived in VR. So far I could create some pretty realistic facial expressions like smiling, fearful face etc. However, when I try using the "open mouth" blendshape, the lips do form in the expected manner but the teeth keep touching instead of opening.
How can I actually open a character's mouth in Unity?
Thanks,
Marius
Hi,
I am sorry, I am not a Unity expert. My knowledge of Unity is basic
... but If you load a CGen character in Unity that was exported using Facial Blend Shapes expression, you can probably create a script that will for example set the teeth_Shout "blend shape" (open mouth) parameter to 100 when the expression.Shout is set to 100.

Hi,
thanks for the file. I've tried setting expression.Shout to 100. It does form the lips in a shout-like-manner. However, the mouth itself won't open. I've attached an image of what that looks like.
Anyone knows a solution?
Best,
Marius
Hi,
Like I said, you also need to set the teeth_shout to 100
Select the teeth and then set the teeth_shout parameter to 100.
