Unable to use Flags to increase number of boundary wall layers above 15

Dear all,

I am trying to use flags to increase the number of wall layers at the surface of my hydrofoil simulation.

Using the normal interface for setting to 15 layers works fine.

But as soon as I enable the mesh_enhance_layers = 60 and mesh_enhance_thick = 400 flags, as recommended in the Autodesk webinar, I don't get any wall layers at all. Why not?

To me this seems like a software issue?

In my meshing settings, I have set the edge length for my hydrofoil at 2.5mm and the surface size in the first region surrounding the foil to 5mm (as recommended in the webinar).

Welcome to the forum.

I did some test on your model and I feel strange that mesh layers are not generated by setting mesh_enhance_layers = 60. I will raise this issue to the development team for investigation.

However,  it could be meshed if using mesh_enhance_layers = 55. After changing it to 55, please make a change to "Number of layers" as shown in picture below. As I noticed that this flag sometimes might not be enabled unless you make some changes to wall layers.

Thanks @Xiaojin.Zhang  for your reply. I found it started to work once I turned down the gradation factor below 1.5. It must be that too high a gradation factor with 60 layers can't handle itself, squeezing too many layers?
In any case I was stumped by not getting any boundary layers, perhaps the developers should add an error message if wall layers are requested but not received.
