Hi,

 

I'm trying to visualize how air will move through an open area in the second floor of a bus terminal building. There is no specific inlet or outlet, I modeled the building with the air volume I want to analyze and I have the wind direction and speed. I'm not sure how to define the boundary or initial conditions. I don't need heat transfer simulation, only how wind moves through it.

I keep getting an error message (The analysis has stopped because the Solver has exited unexpectedly) and don't know what to do.

 

Will appreciate any help.

If you have an external air volume around it, you would really just need a velocity at it's inlet and a P=0 at the outlet, CFD should do the rest for you.

I tried what you suggested but didn't work. I'm attaching a picture of my setup. The building is within the air volume.

What conditions do you have at the inlet? Does it work with just a normal velocity?

Does the Status file tell you anything? (You can find this within Results -> Review)

It didn't work with a normal velocity. The Status file is grayed out. Here's a video.

Are you running on a local drive and not a networked one?

Do other models run OK? (ruling out a machine/installation issue here)

 

You might want to turn flow on also, seems like you are wanting to capture it?

Good day. I have the same problem when you run the solver. I want to understand how much pressure at the pump. The boundary conditions =0, Wheel Pump 1000 RPM. what am I doing wrong ?

Hi Jon, 

 

This is my first time using the software. I'm trying to analyze the flow of air from the wind at the second floor of this building. It has an open area where cars and buses go through. I did the model in Revit using masses and adding walls and roofs. I'm attaching a full video of what I did. I haven't tried other models. It is running on a local drive.
