Silicon structrure thermal results going bad in CFD Flex 2016

HI all,

 

I have added the "boundary conditions" with heat flex, Just wanted to study the how much heat transferd in different parts of the silicon structure.

 3 Volumes I given boundary condition as : 70 W/mm3, and another 3 volumes as :700 w/m3. The results should be controlled .. within 50-70 degree centigrade in different parts of the silicon structure. But it is going beyond that..

 

I am attaching my report. as well my cfd flex file. Can anybody help me where my Boundary condition or meshing is  going bad.

Hi,

 

You would need to use CAD to create the 2D. It should take 10 minutes and will save your hours in CFD 🙂

 

Bear in mind though that you can either run 2D as a slice (CFD uses a unit thickness, depending on your units) OR axisymmetric. You would need to decide which is useful to you.

I suspect the former one might be best for you here.

 

If you need to run so many designs, I would think 2D is the only way.

 

I can't open a cfdst, could you share a CFZ file please?

Dear Jon sir,

 

Pls find my cfd again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

 

CAD tool means, I used "Inventor professional", in that I started with 2D sketch and used "extrude" to make it 3D. I am not exactly getting where I still need to be in 2D in that.

The 2D model in CAD (usually still an assembly) needs to be in the x-y plane only.

You would take a slice of the model and have individual surfaces (not just lines) for each part.


In your CFZ, you still have 0C at the walls of the air domain and a 25C at the inlet. Which is correct?

 

What are these suppressed volumes?

Now I am checking, there are weird little volumes all over the place, is that right? If you need small volumes, it is better to use a surface material - no mesh issues then 🙂

Dear Jon sir,

 

Sorry for the delayed reply. I am in other project priorities.

I have learned what you pointed. The suppressed volumes suppose to be on internal  2 extra structures created when I bought the assembly in CFD, from Inventor profesional tool. Ddont know how it is showing in the Copper Front plates.

 

anyways, it requires a lot time to me to redraw whole assembly in 2D. any links to learn this 2D fatsre way ? pls point me.

Any links to learn this 2D faster way? pls point me. Any Vedios.
