Problem with importing AutoCAD .dwg into CFD program

I exported the .dwg solid into both .sat and .igs and tried importing onto the CFD program, however I get an error message that reads: "Conversion from imported geometry to analysis model failed".

Any suggestion or steps that I can try to import the AutoCAD 3D solid onto the CFD software?

Hello,

There could be more than one reason for this error to occur.

If you do a wed search for "Conversion from imported geometry to analysis model failed" you will get a number of hits.

Go through those.

If that does not work, please send us the model and we can try it on our end.

cheers,

Thanks for the reply. I tried few things out, but unfortunately nothing worked. I am attaching a basic diagram which I would like to import onto CFD and try the tracer for it.

Thanks

Thank you for sharing the file.

Autodesk CFD does not directly open dwg files.

I did the following:

1- Opened the file in AutoCAD

2- Exported it as ACIS (*.sat)

3- Opened the *.sat file in CFD

The attached zip file has both the ACIS file and the CFD model.

What is your workflow?
