Problem Cloud solving doesn't proceed

Hello,

I am using the cloud for solving simulations. But suddenly it doesn't work anymore.

The start works without problems and it says in the simulation job manager, that the upload was succesful. But after that nothing happens anymore, even if I wait for a day or so. I also tried already another simulation but the same problem accured.

I attached two screenshots of the Simulation job manager and of the CFD software. Maybe they help, even if they are in german.

Hopefully someone can help me, I really have no idea what the problem might be.

Hi Lisa,

Sorry to see you are facing a problem. This process is usually pretty fast.

Are you able to test this with one of our tutorial models as a quick test?
They are located here: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\CFD 2018\Tutorials

This will at least help to identify if this is a system or model specific issue.

Thanks!

Jon

Hi Jon,

Thank you for your fast reply!

I just tried to run one of the tutorial models, but it happens the same.

Thanks!

Hi Lisa,

No problem, that's what we are here for 🙂

Thanks for getting back to us.

I think I might lean towards resetting your job manager.

Before that though, could you check that all of these executables are set as exceptions within your antivirus and firewall. I wonder if the cloud is trying to communicate back but cannot.

Do not just turn off the AV and Firewall, you need to set the exceptions.

It does sound strange though I know, I am not super confident that this will fix the issue but it will at least rule out another potential problem.

Thanks!

Jon

Hi Jon,

Sadly it didn't work out.

Do I have to reinstall the simulation job manager to reset it?

Thanks!

Hi Jon,

I tried once more to run a simulation and now it worked. Seems like the solution with the firewall worked out, luckily.

Thank you very much for your help!

Great! I have to admit, I was not sure what to suggest next 😄

Best of luck and enjoy CFD. Feel free to ask on here if you ever need our help.
