Open Revit model file to CFD

Hi,

I do not have Revit on my PC but need to import a Revit model into CFD by starting a new design study. The Revit file type is not supported in the dropdown menu. What is the best way to get my Revit model into my Autodesk CFD UI?

Thanks!

Hello,

You are right, there is no Revit file type under File: New in CFD.

As such, there are two ways to open a Revit model in CFD:

  • Push the model from Revit.  Not an option for you.
  • Save the Revit model in a neutral file format such as ACIS or STEP and open that in CFD.

Saving the Revit model in a neutral format will cause the part names to be lost.  If this will be a big issue for you then you need to install CFD on the Revit machine as well.
