How to import obj files to CFD

Hi everyone

I have got an obj file and I don't know how to import it to CFD since it is a mesh file. Can someone help me pls?

You will need to use Surface Wrap options and later transfer it to CFD before you start, I will also add the external air volume, Autodesk CFD does not allow to creation of external air volume which is in contact with the object surface.

Doing a surface wrap on your obj file may not be the most efficient way to do this. I'm trying it right now and it seems to be taking a very long time.

Using a CAD file such as step or acis would be faster.

As far as using the surface wrap functionality, have you tried it?

Walk us through what you've done so far and at what point do you need assistance.

You can still use the obj file. It will just take a long time to process. It took, maybe, 20 hours on my end. Depends on how fast your computer is. It may be faster on your end.

So what should you do?

Use surface wrap because that is the best way.

If you use the obj file it will take longer than a step or acis file but either way you will need to use surface wrap.

I have used surface wrap but it failed. It took me 15 mins to load and the 3d model is gone after the process. I don't know what I did wrong. I have autosized and chose the best resolution factor. Can you record a video of surface wrapping pls. I am a newbie, I really need help. @marwan_azzam

Your model is not gone. It's inside the newly created volume. You now have two volumes: 

The original model

The surrounding box

Thanks a lot but how can I make my model seeable. If my model is not gone, does that mean I can move up to the setup part? And how can I set boundaries later on if I cannot see my model. Also, there are transfer model to setup and transfer wrap to setup, which should I choose? Thanks.

I have chosen transfer model to setup and there is a issue. Does that mean transfer wrap is the best option? Are there carbon fibers as a material option in the CFD simulation as this is a F1 car? Thanks

You want to hit Transfer Wrap to setup. 

I'm not sure why you're having an issue.

I have redone the surface wrap setup because I wanna try. I have done the progress from ur previous video and transfer my wrap to setup. I couldn't see my model can you help?
