Exporting Average Pressure and Surface Center Coordinates in CSV

Hi,

I’ve simulated a dome-shaped structure with approximately 200 hexagonal surfaces (similar to a soccer ball) using Autodesk CFD, analyzing wind pressures for eight different wind directions.

Now, I need to export the results into a CSV file. Specifically, I’m looking to output:

  • The average pressure on each surface
  • The coordinates of each surface’s center

I’d prefer not to use FEA mapping, as it’s not applicable to my case.

Does anyone have suggestions or guidance on how to achieve this?

Thank you very much!

Shaun

Hi @designDUF2U

If you are not using a scalar, you can assign different scalar values to each of the surfaces in the simulation setup (Setup tab > Initial Conditions > Scalar). Then you can click the CFD icon and select Export > Nodal Results. This will create a.csv file in the simulation folder with nodal data exported then you can just filter (e.g. in Excel or Librecalc) all the data that match certain scalar value, take pressure values, and calculate the mean pressure on each of the walls.
