Hi,

Could you save out a CFZ from CFD before it exits and share it with us?

Can you explain what materials are you assigning to which parts so that we can try to replicate this exactly?

Thanks!

Jon

I just now sent you the reply by email with attachments.

Hi Jon,

We are running service pack 2.

This time it failed before it could create support file ( CFZ).

However It created a support file (CFDST) which I am attaching.

I also attaching the model files so that you can run on your machine.

Once you have the model on your computer I can provide you with materials and boundary conditions.

Thank you,

I first filled the materials and then the geometry tools; it did not fill the void.

Hey Syed - just a note - we are working this through a 1:1 case now and are awiaiting the CAD - there's a big gap in the model which is why it is not void filling 🙂

Hi Nagi,

Thanks for the files and feel free to just reply to the case emails (I'll send this from there also).

I cannot see any changes were made, so I suggest that the red inlets are extended out to be cuboids - so they will look more like spokes.

Should there be a leakage path as I indicated before? I suggest you close it up - why not just reduce the yellow part (starwheel) to have a diameter of 10in with an additional extrusion?

Then cap off the inlets:

This launches and void fills without issue.

Seems to mesh and run well, although we ought to refine the mesh to ensure 4-5 elements accross any gaps.

(I haven't worried out this to test and obviously, I have guessed the inlet/outlet/flow rate).

I suppressed any parts that were not connected to the main flow volume, there were a few on the 'inlet' side of the model.

Here are some early and rough results

Best regards,

Jon
