When I run the program after the first installation, cfd 2021 crashes and gives me a CER.

Windows 10

AMD Ryzen 5 3500U

GTX 1050Ti

RAM - 6GB

Thanks.

Hi @artyomkorotkov2019,

Problems like this can be difficult to identify. Can you try running a tutorial model? This tutorial is easy and should run quickly.

This will tell us if it is model/path specific or a problem with CFD in general.

Thanks,

James

It might be because of the RAM. Autodesk CFD minimum requirement is 12GB RAM.

Hi @mar.wen

Good Catch! I did not notice that.

@artyomkorotkov2019 as a general rule, for every 1 million elements in the model, you will need at least 2.1 gigs of RAM available. And that is just to solve the model. And that is AVAILABLE RAM, not your total RAM. Windows will be using a big chunk of it. All your concurrent running programs are going to eat away at it. And then when you try to run the CFD interface, you are not going to have much RAM left to even run anything.

Thanks,

James
