Cannot Login to Vault Server from CFD 2017

I cannot login into the Vault Server from CFD 2017 (Version 17.1).

It takes forever and eventually I give up. I am using the "Windows account" for authentication. This works well and fast for login in directly into the Vault Server or by login in from Inventor.

I also tried it on one of my colleagues machines and it has the same issue.

Please help. Thank you.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for reaching out to us on the forums! Unfortunately I have no experience with Vault. I realize resolving this issue may require knowledge of both CFD and Vault, but perhaps reaching out on the Vault forum is a good idea? Did you try that? I definitely recommend it.

Thanks,

Hi @matt.bemis,

My Vault works fine, I can access it directly or as using Autodesk Inventor.

This question belongs here because Autodesk CFD is the application that has an issue with login in the Vault. [People in the Vault forum have little or no CFD experience.]

I would suggest reaching out to your colleagues in development. They have also a better connection with the Vault developers.

This is a bug, please fix it or provide a work around.

Thank you.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for reaching out to us on the forums! My colleague Jason supports Vault and gave me some input here. What version of Inventor are you using that works correctly? What version of Vault Server are you using? What about for Vault Client (installed because Inventor is on the machine). He said it is common for users to install newer versions of CAD software (CFD, Inventor, etc) than the Vault server recognizes and therefore this can cause problems.

If logging in within CFD worked previously, what has changed since then? Did you upgraded from CFD 2016? Install a service pack?

Hi @matt.bemis,

I am using CFD 2017 version 17.1.

The Vault client is Vault Professional 2017, Build 22.1.2.0 (2017.0.1)

Inventor Professional 2017, Build 233, Release 2017.3

Thank you for looking into this.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for the info. I shared this thread with my colleague that supports Vault. He said at this point it would be best to create a support case and do a screen share to see why it's failing to connect.

I suggest you go ahead and do this 🙂

Thanks,
