Autodesk CFD 2026 Student solver using only one core

Hello Autodesk Forums,

I am trying to run a simulation of a propeller in water using the Rotating Region material.

The computer is set to 0 cores in the Solver Computers setup.

It has been running for almost an hour, and still hasn't completed a single time step.

It only uses one core (core 10) of my AMD Ryzen 9 7900 with hyperthreading off.

Is it a limitation of the license I have? Is there any way to get full CPU performance (although as far as I know it can only use 2^n cores, I'd be very happy if it used 8 of the 12 cores I have)?

Howdy There!
Thanks for reaching out.
I'd recommend turning hyperthreading back on (it will likely break other software)

What solver settings are you using/ how many elements do you have. Some parts of the initial set up are handled by a single core.

Try running one of the tutorial files and see if you're still only seeing one instance of Solver.exe in Task Manager.

If the problem is persisting after those tests.  It may be worth making a support ticket. It will end up with me.
